I've had countless moms ask me what kind of camera they should get for Christmas this year. So I decided that if I had a $500 budget, what would I buy for the needs that most moms have.
- Good image quality
- Under $500
- Possible extra goodies (memory cards etc)
My Result? Canon's T5
This camera is not going to win any photo competition awards, but it will be a fantastic tool to use throughout the year for school events, sports, quick portraits and anything else that moms would like.
It's also a great option for the entry level photographer who wants interchangeable lenses.
Kit lenses and package zoom lenses aren't my personal favorite. But I understand that having a budget is really important. I think that the camera body itself is a good deal, and paired with the right lenses such as the 50mm 1.4 (fixed, prime lens), 50mm 1.8 (fixed, prime lens), Sigma 17-70 Contemporary Lens (Zoom), can produce stellar results.
